- KIZI Launch Celebration CG Contest-
"Fabric Texture Contest" is a CG contest celebrating the launch of the fabric texture library "KIZI." We want to connect the textile industry with the 2DCG and 3DCG industries and contribute to revitalizing both industries by digitizing high-quality, unique Japanese fabrics produced by Japanese tradition and culture and presenting them to the world.
We welcome entries from a wide range of 2D and 3D creators.

The results will be announced around May 1st, 2023 (Monday).
Original CG works using fabric textures distributed by KIZI.
*Both 2D and 3D CG works are accepted for submission.
Please express your own perception of Japan in your work.
"Fashion" and "Freestyle" are the two sections.
A. Fashion Section
Please submit original costumes
You can use avatars and poses with CLO or Marvelous Designer. Original avatars are also accepted.
There is no requirement for the costumes to be traditional.
B. Freestyle Section
This section is open to all works that use fabric textures distributed by KIZI
1. how successfully the design meets the contest theme
2. Whether the message is strongly conveyed or unique ideas and innovations have been incorporated
3. Whether the textile materials are attractively portrayed

Senior Modeler@Sony Pictures Imageworks
Shinya Ishii is a Senior Modeler from Aichi Prefecture, Japan. After graduating from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco in 2011, he began his career at Sony Pictures Imageworks. In 2014, he joined as a founding member of the modeling team at Sony Pictures Imageworks in Vancouver and is currently still with the company. As a modeling specialist, he is responsible for character, background, and hard surface modeling, and has participated in a wide range of projects across various genres including live-action and CG animation. In 2021, he was in charge of creating the new suit (Integrated Suit) for Spider-Man in the movie "Spider-Man: No Way Home."
3D Designer, Business Development Manager
Emily Choi is working at CLO Virtual Fashion for 10years as a 3D designer. Mainly training the Korea, EU and Hong Kong clients to be familiar with 3D process, and fostering the global 3D specialist for the fashion industry. Now processing the 3D business project in Japan as a business developer manager at CLO Japan. Trying to find the best way and value of 3D for Japan fashion.
Business Development Manager
Soojin Kim has been involved in game and video production since 2002. He has worked as a VFX artist at From Software, Konami Digital Entertainment, and Kojima Productions. He joined CLO Virtual Fashion in 2022.
3DCG Artist / Marvelous Designer Artist
Masaya Horie has been using Marvelous Designer to create various costumes and digitize existing apparel products since 2015. He is a top creator of software in Japan, also presenting at conferences and lecturing at seminars. He is expanding his work further with costume representation and design for digital fashion as well as VR and AR projects using UnrealEngine and creating shopping experiences in the Metaverse. He joined CyberHuman Productions in 2022.
Editor-in-Chief of CGWORLD / Layout Artist
Ryo Wakasugi started his career as a CG animator at Pixar Animation Studios after graduating from the Academy of Art University in 2010. In 2018, he moved from San Francisco to Vancouver, Canada and currently works at Sony Pictures Imageworks as a CG animator. In addition to his work as a CG animator, he founded an online school specializing in CG animation called "AnimationAid" and he still runs the school and teaches classes as a teacher.
